American Association Of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) also known as 4A’s was founded in 1917 as United States based trade organisation for advertising agencies. This is a management oriented trade association which looks after the advertising agency businesses in US. It provides wide array of services to its members from information to expertise in the advertising agency business.


Mission of the AAAA is to improve and strengthen the advertising business in United States by counselling and providing expertise to the advertising agencies. In United States 80% of the advertising work is carried by members of the AAAA. It is a trade organisation set by rules, regulations, mission statement, constitution, standards of practice and set of laws which has to be followed by its members because it is a trade association.


Although many of the largest, multinational agencies are its members, but 60% of the membership bills cost around 10$ million a year. AAAA organises annual awards for the best agencies in different categories. There is a AAAA Foundation which grants scholarships to the multicultural students studying advertising to increase diversity among advertising businesses of United States.
