Definition: Government Program

Government programs are schemes for the benefit if the people of its country across various sectors, and can be in a wide range of subjects from subsidy on oil and cooking gas to signing of Power Purchase agreement for solar power. A government of the country works for its people. So it identifies the key area where it should involve itself so that its people are better off. The companies are always looking at the move by the government in various industries so that it can be able to gain the best benefit out of their policies.


The Make in India initiative is a government program wherein they target to bring Foreign direct Investment into India mostly in the manufacturing sector and increase the contribution of manufacturing in the GDP and also create a large number of jobs for the Indian population. Due to this many multinational companies are thinking of investing in India as the government tries to ease of doing business in the country.

Similarly another Initiative by the government is the Atal Pension Yojana which is a social sector scheme aimed at creating pension for the unorganized sector.
