Definition: Warehouse Club

It is a retail store in which customer can buy goods at the rate of wholesaler. Warehouse clubs are sometime actual warehouses with very little designing and look mostly focusing on bulk purchase at wholesale prices.

It sells wide variety of goods and often requires special membership for such purchases. Its prices are best suited for bulk purchaser, small retail vendor, etc which buys goods in large quantity. Its prices are low due to its low investment in other supporting activities such as large scale promotions, advertisements, etc and provide no-frill services.

Eg; In India this concept is also known as Cash and Carry retail in which only wholesalers and bulk buyers are allowed to shop that requires large quantity. Metro cash and carry has pioneered this concept in India.
