Definition: DFR (Decreasing Failure Rate)

Failure rate is denoted by λ (Lambda). It is the frequency at which the system fails. The failure rates generally increase in the systems because of wear and tear due to use and age.

But the failure rate can be decreasing as well because of its process improvement. It is also known as ‘Positive Ageing’.
