Definition: Mass Production

Mass production is the production of a large amount of standardized products especially making use of assembly lines. From automobiles to food products, a standardized product can be divided into components which should be put together to get in the final required form with the help of an assembly line. In preparation of soft drinks like coca cola and Pepsi, the assembly line is completely automated with hardly any manual work.

The mechanization of assembly line completely reduces the burden on human resources and hardly there is any scope for error or misjudgment while erecting the components together. Currently, in the automobile sector, it is only semi-mechanized with human involvement in preparation of a complete bike or car.
