Definition: Binomial Theorem

The binomial theorem describes the expansion of any binomial (x+y) raised to any positive integer power.

In general, the expression (x+y) n expands to n+1 terms in which the power of x decreases from n to 0 while the power of y increases from 0 to n in the successive terms.

(x+y) n = nC0xny0 + nC1xn-1y1 + --------------- + nCn-1x1yn-1 + nCnx0yn
