Brief Project Description & Responsibilities:

Planning and Execution of Marketing for Company X’s First B2C Mobile App.

What was the overview of the project? Elaborate with some details

In this growing age of change and Smartphone’s, where everything has become mobile; where products and services are being provide at a few clicks of mouse or rather few touches, the mobility market has been buzzing with products that want to deliver the best of the best to the consumers with simpler platforms and ease of use. The company where I was interning is a known face in the field of providing Mobility Solutions across Mobile Service Operators & Financial Institutions ranging from Developed Markets to Developing Markets. It has come up with its first Business-to-Consumer (B2C) Geo-Locator Mobile App which was launched in Bangalore on 16th May, 2015 with NCR region soon to follow. The project was basically about Planning & Execution of Marketing Strategy for the app. This app rides the next wave of social networking to help merchants reach out to consumers more effectively and grow business in a sustainable manner. The app provides a richer purchasing experience for the consumer by helping them choose the best stores and best deals instantly. For the merchant, it helps drive customers to his store in real time by delivering high impact messages at the moment of a purchase decision. The two major aspects of my project were – Getting the right mix of Digital Marketing activities for a successful sustenance of app and Merchant Acquisition through direct marketing and negotiations for getting exclusive deals and offers from them for the app.

Share your daily routine & overall summer internship experience.

On a daily basis, I would sit down with my mentor and discuss our respective job lists or tasks for the day as we were the only 2 people working on this particular project, so our tasks were pretty much clear and well defined for both of us. Working up on digital campaigns and activations, meeting up with merchants (restaurant and pubs and bars owners) to get them on board for an exclusive offer/deal for us which cannot be found on any other portal (food panda and likewise) and contemplating and planning all the major and minor intricacies associated with the marketing strategy.

On a whole, this was one of the best experiences for me professionally as well as personally. I was fortunate enough to have a mentor who not only guided me throughout but stood with me through thick and thin which helped me to deliver fruitful results for the organisation and form a profound bond with him as well which we share till date. I met some really interesting people and made some really good friends as well which was the cherry on the cake.
