Oliver Wyman, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan is an international management consulting firm.

The company as it is today was formed by the combination of three major global consulting firms in May 2007. These three firms are Mercer Oliver Wyman, Mercer Management Consulting and Mercer Delta. Oliver Wyman & Company was founded in 1984 by two former partners of Booz Allen Hamilton, Alex Oliver and Bill Wyman. This firm was bought by MMC and merged with its consulting business under the name of Mercer Oliver Wyman. Mercer Oliver Wyman specialized in banking, financial services and insurance. The second firm i.e. Mercer Management consulting was formed when Temple, Barker & Sloane and Strategic Planning Associates. While Temple, Barker & Sloane was acquired by MMC in 1987, Strategic Planning Associates was acquired by MMC in 1990. The two companies merged and the merged company was renamed as Mercer Management Consulting in 1992. David Nadler founded the Delta Consulting in New York in 1990. It was acquired by MMC in 2000 to form Mercer delta. This firm provided expertise in CEO leadership development and board effectiveness and organizational transformation. In the recent years Oliver Wyman has acquired a number of consulting firms like Acadamee (UK), Celent, ChapterHouse, Hemeria (France) and Harbour Consulting.

Currently the company has more than 3700 employees and more than 50 offices in 25 countries of the world.
