DreamWorks SKG has headquarters in California, United States and it was founded in 1994.

Before 2004, it was a part of Old DreamsWork which was founded by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen. In 2004, through intial public offering the company was split. DreamWorks, is very well known for its weekly comedy show named Spin city and it released first movie “Pacemaker” in 1997.

Various sources of revenue for DreamWorks are feature films, distributor network, digital sources like pay per view, via cable, home entertainment, giving licenses of in-house productions, consumer products. Consumer products is related to merchandizing and licensing tasks related to in-house productions. It is majorly involved in picture films, TV series, music, computer games, and animated productions. Despite having diversified revenue streams, the company faces fluctuations in operating income owing to the nature of the industry. Success of any film is attributed as one of the reasons for the same. Channel partners, timing of release, etc are factors contributing to this uncertainty. DreamWorks has entered into long term agreements with Netflix, Super RTL, media company Planeta Junior for easing out the production and or distribution operations.

DreamWorks have released 30 plus animated films like How to train your dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Madagaskar, Shrek etc. The television series like Kund Fu Panda, Monsters vs Aliens, The Penguins of Madagascar. Some of the well-known movies co-produced by DreamWorks with Reliance entertainment are Lincoln, The Fifth Estate, Delivery Man, Need For Speed, Bridge of Spies, The Hundred-Foot Journey. Few of the upcoming feature films by DreamWorks are include Home, Kung Fu Panda 3, Trolls, Boss Baby, The Croods 2, Larrikins, How to train your dragon 3.
