L'Oreal is one of the largest cosmetic companies in the world. It produces and markets a range of make-up, perfume, hair and skin care products in 130 countries. L’Oreal is established by Eugene Schueller, a French chemist in 1909. It is headquartered in Clichy, France and it has 77452 employees.


The company's products are sold under well-known brands such as L'Oreal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline, Softsheen-Carson, Vichy, L'Oreal Professionnel, Kerastase, Redken, Matrix, Inneov, Lancome, Biotherm, Helena Rubinstein, Kiehl's, Shu Uemura, Giorgio Armani, Diesel and SkinCeuticals among others.


The company operates through three business branches: cosmetics, the Body Shop and dermatology. The cosmetics branch of L'Oreal functions through four operating divisions: professional products, consumer products, luxury products and active cosmetics. The Body Shop branch operates a chain of 2,800 stores in 66 countries, specializing in skin and hair care products made from natural ingredients. The dermatology branch includes dermatological and pharmaceutical activities of the company. Through Galderma Laboratories (a joint venture between L'Oreal and Nestle) the company has presence in more than 70 countries.


It has 23 research and 16 evaluation centres on all continents, the Group has developed more than 130 molecules during the last 40 years.
