Apartfrom that, professionals working in Supply Chain and Logistics Management arestrongly encouraged to participate About the Supply Chain Role Play GameThis is a computerized and web based role-play supply chain simulation game inwhich participants enact a four-stage supply chain. This game lets the participantsto experience typical coordination problems of (traditional) supply chains withoutinformation sharing and collaboration. Also, the package has the capability to shareinformation among the supply chain members. The game can be used to provideparticipants with a more profound understanding of the reasons why eCollaborationtechnologies are used in contemporary supply chains to exchange information andto facilitate collaboration.The “Supply Chain Role Play Game Software Package” is developed in theDepartment of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Calicutwith the assistance of Department of Computer Science and Engineering of theinstitute. This software package has undergone several developmental phases andcurrently version 3 is available. First computerised web version was developed inthe year 2010. A manual tabular version was developed in the year 2009 and laterMS Excel in laptop was used to simplify the updating computation in the tabularversion.This package has been used as laboratory exercises for B.Tech (ProductionEngineering) and M.Tech (Industrial Engineering & Management) students of NITCalicut since the initial year of its development. This game is being regularlyadministered for the MBA students of NIT Calicut. This was also administered toMBA students of College of Engineering, Trivandrum in the year 2010.This game is also used for student/research scholar projects at Ph.D, M.Tech andB.Tech levels. One Ph.D., One M.Tech and One B.Tech are being completed basedon the data generated from this software package. Registration form shall be sent to the Coordinator with aDemand Draft drawn in favour of “The Director, NIT Calicut”, payable at SBI,NITC, Branch CREC Chathamangalam, Code No. 2207".The registration fee shall be Rs: 5000/-The Registration Fee will cover the Workshop-kit, software package of supplychain role play game in USB, Refreshments and Working Lunch on the days of theworkshop. Send the registration form with DD to reach on or before10-12-12. DD drawn after 10-11-12 only will be considered as valid DD. SelectionOnly limited seats are available.
