Got a passion for marketing? Smitten by the ad bug? Believe advertising can also be entertaining? Think you're capable of creating content that's 'shareable' and 'likeable'? If your answer is in the affirmative for all of these, here's your chance to join India's first and biggest hunt for advertainers.

What's the deal?

The task in hand is to challenge the traditional norms and dial up the entertainment quotient in advertising. To participate in this contest is very simple – you have to make an advertainment (entertainment advertisement video) – a no holds barred video on any of the themes shared and incorporate FreeCharge's concept. It's different, it's innovative, it's advertaining!

How to participate?

The entire contest has 2 phases: Phase 1 is entry submission and Phase 2 is entry evaluation

Phase 1:

Step 1 - Register as a team, minimum 2 and maximum 4 students (Registration Form) – Last date is 18th July
Step 2 - Pick a theme/ concept from the following 5 themes.

  1. Mobile balance drops in the night. But 90% people recharge during the day. Okay, you already know why your balance hits rock-bottom during the night (late night gupshup/flirting). But most mobile recharging still happens during the day. Why? Are people sleepy, busy, miserly, lazy or is ignoring the in thing? Help us solve the mystery, will you?
  2. Dating = Investment of (time,money and phone balance) => penniless you. It's a vicious cycle – tapping 5 chicks, investing on all of them, to finally land on 1, and being too broke to take her out on a good date. Long story short, spend on 5 girls to get 1 girlfriend. Makes no math sense whatsoever! How do you beat the resultant kangaali? Hint, hint: Be smart with FreeCharge (coupons)
  3. "No balance" can give you bigger nightmares than failing in a test. You know what we're talking about. Why is zero balance so feared in campus? Why is it a bigger deal than zero marks or zero khaanaa! What makes mobile balance ki badi bhookh so epic in campus? And most importantly, what's the solution?
  4. The unwritten rule of hostel friendships: udhaar (including recharge money) once given is never returned! You've taken udhaar, you've never returned it, but you've still given udhaar – why? If research were to be believed, an average student writes off a minimum udhaar of 10000 bucks during his stint in hostel. Care to share one sure way to survive this persistent problem?
  5. Miscellaneous (open category) - Make up your own theme. Because you're creative like that.

Step 3 – Go crazy with it! The challenge lies in presenting a storyline on the chosen theme and incorporating brand FreeCharge intelligently. No rules! Shoot it, animate it, spoof it, go out of the box. Plug in the FreeCharge brand logo (new!) as well (Appendix 2). Just remember to make a branded advertainment!

Phase 2:

The top 10 videos will be posted on FreeCharge's official YouTube channel. The 2nd phase of the contest will involve judging the entries not just by our esteemed judges, but by your peers! Details will be shared on declaration of results of phase 1.
