In a rapidly globalizing world that is opening up a multitude of employment opportunities, women are entering the workforce in large numbers. Double-income families are on their way to becoming the norm rather than the exception. However, issues such as non-inclusive attitudes at the workplace, a dearth of support systems for working couples and the lack of initiatives to empower all employees in equal measure still plague the corporate landscape. These are often reasons why double-income families are not sustainable, causing one of the members to either not enter or drop out of the workforce. At the household, firm and economy-wide levels, measures to correct this situation are of much importance.
It is in this context that Vista 2015, in association with Women in Management (IIM B), presents a Business Plan competition Impetus, that seeks to focus on possible ventures that could simplify the lives of working couples on professional or personal fronts. If you have a feasible idea that could make all the difference to that young woman employee contemplating leaving her job, those busy couples who are unable to meet family commitments or that expectant father wondering how to achieve work-life balance, this forum is just the place for you!
