M&M's Candy, owned by the Mars incorporated, are colored flavored candies, which are very popular in United States. These are now available across the globe in all major countries. Being a luxury product, candy business is affected by market but not so much, as the costs of both production and consumption are very low.

In any business, there are several companies & brands which compete with each other by offering similar products & services.

1. Cadbury:

Cadbury is a British multinational confectionary which is completely owned by the American company Mondelez International. Cadbury brand is considered as the second largest brand after Wrigley. The company is famous for its Dairy milk chocolates which is renowned all over the world.

Toblerone is a Swiss chocolate brand, initially owned by Kraft foods, and then acquired by US confectionery company Mondelez International, Inc in 1990. Toblerone was introduced by Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann in 1908 in Switzerland. Since then Toblerone is among the best-known brands in the world of chocolate and is liked by more than a million people.

3. Lindt:

Lindt is a common name for Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprungli AG, is a Switzerland based company which specializes in chocolates and confectioneries. It was founded in 1845 and has been a major player in the chocolate industry. Dieter Weisskopf is he current CEO of the company, which tapped the revenue of around 3.7 billion in the fiscal year 2016.

4. Hershey's:

Hershey's is an American food company and one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in the world. Its headquarters are in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company was started by Milton S Hershey in the year 1894.

5. Nestle:

Nestle – largest food company in terms of revenue is based out of Vaud, Switzerland. It has a wide range of product line such baby foods, coffee, tea, dairy products, Maggi and many more. It has presence in 194 countries having approximate 450 factories with a head count of 339,000 people.

6. Mars:

Founded in 1911 by Frank C Mars, since then the company is making chocolate confectioneries. Mars is a family owned business with more that one hundred thousand active associates over eighty countries. Since the inception, the company has remained the family-owned business with the dedicated associates who are guided by the five principles of the company: Responsibility, Mutuality, Freedom, Quality, and Efficiency.

7. Ferrero Rocher:

Ferrero was founded in the 1940s in Italy by Piera and Pietro Ferrero in the form of a pastry shop. It later transformed into a world-wide success because of its diverse products like Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Joy, Tic-Tac and Nutella which have been the favorites among the people ever since their inception. The company has its manufacturing plants in all the continents and has a total workforce of around 33000 employees.

8. Ghirardelli:

The Ghirardelli company was founded by Domenico Ghirardelli who went to California after working in South America. In 1852 the chocolate company was incorporated and became the third oldest chocolate company in the United States. Ghirardelli was born in Italy and learnt the ins and outs of the chocolate business by working as an apprentice in the local candy shop.

9. Snickers:

Snickers is a child company of a famous chocolate brand named Mars. As it is a subsidiary of parent company Mars Incorporated, Snickers entered the market in the US in the year 1930, and It got established as a brand that offers both nutritious and fulfilling chocolate products. It faces competition from multiple competing brands and their products, some of which are the bounty, Cadbury, five-star, Mars chocolate bar, Nestle chocolates and many more.

10. Twix:

Twix bar is a Chocolate bar brand owned by Mars Inc. The initial favor of Twix was mild chocolate, however later on many more variants were added to the basket. The latest 'Left and Right Twix' campaign of the brand launched in 2012 Cannes Festival has earned brand a lot of awareness.
