Sainsbury's offers a huge variety of grocery products and quality food, in addition to restaurants, pharmacies, delicatessen, coffee shops, meat and fish counters and petrol stations.

3. Costco:

Costco Wholesale is a global retailer which specializes in warehouse club operations in 8 countries and is known for its dedicated quality and good business ethics. Costco is the largest American warehouse club which provides a huge selection of merchandize and after Walmart is the 2nd largest retailer in the world. In 2016 Costco became the largest retailer of choice and prime beef, chicken rotisserie and organic foods as well as wine.

4. Carrefour:

Carrefour, in French stands for crossroads, it was created in 1958 by Denis Defforey , Jacques Defforey and Marcel Fournier. It is the second largest hypermarket chain in the world in terms of outlets and revenues, only next to Walmart. The 1st Carrefour store was opened in 1960 and it was not a hypermarket, though in Europe they were the first to open a department store, a large supermarket, and a hypermarket.

5. LIDL:

LIDL is one of the leading retail chains in the world based out of Germany with more than 12,000 outlets. The brand has an annual revenue in excess of €100 billion making it one of the largest retailer brands in the world. Globally, more than 300,000 people are employed with LIDL.

6. Morrisons:

Morrisons was founded in 1899 by William Morrison. Morrisons is headquartered in Bradford, United Kingdom. Morrisons' legal name is Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc and it is traded under the name ‘Morrison’.

7. ASDA:

With its headquarters in Leeds, West Yorkshire, Asda Stores was founded in 1965 when Associated Diaries of Yorkshire merged with the Asquith family (supermarket owners). After such companies as Allied Carpets, Gateway Supermarkets and MFI during the 80s and 90s. A 6 billion dollar takeover in 1999 by Walmart made it into a subsidiary of the retail giant, one of the largest in terms of market share of supermarket chains.

8. ASOS:

ASOS is an app and online based fashion retailer founded in 2000 in London by Nick Robertson and Quentin Griffiths. ASOS was an acronym for AsScreenOnScreen for the first couple of years. In 2003, it got registered in Alternative Investment Marketing of London Stock Exchange after which it got completely converted to ASOS PLC.
