What is Environmental Management?

Environmental management can be understood as those administrative functions that are associated with development, implementation, and monitoring of the environmental policy of an organization. It is a systematic approach to minimize the ill-effects to the environment by an organization. This has become an important issue in organizations because now consumers increasingly expect businesses to be atleast environmentally aware, if not environmentally friendly. This has put the onus on senior managers to adopt a corporate strategy that balances economic growth with environmental protection.
